// Welcome on Severine Vaena's website //
Born into an artistic environment in Geneva, Severine was introduced to the world of
music and theatre at a very young age. She began her studies at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, where she studied flute, voice and chorale voice lesons.
At the age of 23, she began teaching voice and directing a capella vocal ensemble as well as regulary appearing on stage (Printemps de Bourges, Montreux off, Festival Jazz de Nyon and numerous bars and jazz clubs in Switzerland)
Severine became increasingly attracted to the world of Jazz and the Blues, and in 2000 took a sabbatical in Nashville, Tennessee to study jazz with Annie Sellick.
Excelling in vocal arrangements, Severine worked for studios with David Richard (Queen), John Woolloff, Janice Carter, Armando Paone and Doc Finger among others.
Presently Severine regularly has live performances with various Jazz and Blues groups around Europe.
